Brammo doubles electric motorcycle range

Brammo has announced an enhanced version of its Enertia electric motorcycle with double the range of its predecessor. The Enertia Plus, boasting a range of 80 miles per charge, is available for immediate pre-order with 2011 deliveries.

Brammo lists the following key specs for the Enertia Plus:

  • Battery: 6.0 kWh Lithium Ion
  • Average range: 80 miles (128 km)
  • Weight: 324 lbs (147 kg)
  • Top speed: 60+ mph (95+ kph)

Other enhancements in the Enertia Plus include simplified charging, improved maneuverability, and the ability to add an optional center kickstand and rigid Givi side bags. It’s also available in four new colors: Eclipsed Black, Peacekeeping Blue, True Blood Red, and Aluminum Silver. Additional Enertia Plus specs may be found here.

The Enertia Plus has a suggested retail price of $8995, and is “eligible for all applicable Federal and State EV tax incentives,” says the company. It currently can be pre-ordered on Brammo’s website, and eventually will be available through selected motorcycle dealerships and some Best Buy stores.

Additionally, Brammo is giving away one free Enertia Plus. One customer out of the first 1,000 pre-orders will be selected to receive their motorcycle compliments of Brammo, the company says.
