A regional conference for experts and stakeholders in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic engineering and operations, and transportation planning will be held this December in Florida. “Transpo2010” will feature technical presentations, discussion, training, tours of nearby ITS facilities, and a technology expo, among other ITS-oriented activities.

According to event organizers, Transpo2010 will preview IntelliDrive and other emerging technologies that will be showcased in October 2011 at ITS World Congress in Orlando.

Event organizers characterize the conference’s technical sessions as being focused on…

  • Current projects, demonstrating how to do more with cost-efficient ITS solutions that maximize roadway and transit capacity
  • Solutions that extend beyond standard deployments
  • Long range planning solutions for transportation, societal, and industry trends

In one of the event’s keynote talks, Scott F. Belcher, President of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, will discuss “ITS initiatives that are moving our nation’s transportation network to a new level of enhanced safety, reduced traffic congestion and improved sustainability,” conference organizers say.

Transpo2010 is scheduled for December 12‐15, 2010, at the Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Further details are available here.
