D-Link Boxee Box due in November

Boxee announced on its blog this week that D-Link now plans to begin shipping its DM-380 Boxee Box this November in the US and Canada. D-Link initially said its device would be ready by the end of Q2, Boxee added.

An SD Card slot, located on the device’s side, is visible in photo above. The following I/O and power connections are shown in the photo following the list:

  • HDMI port
  • Optical digital audio (S/PDIF) out
  • Stereo analog audio out
  • Ethernet RJ-45 connector
  • 2 USB 2.0 ports
  • AC power input jack

As mentioned in our earlier coverage of the device, its unusually shaped case measures 4.7-inches on a side and has a flush power button on the top.

Not to mention making all this happen for an affordable price and on a quiet device that will not feel obsolete 12 months after you buy it.”

“We are looking forward to the November launch with D-Link and believe it will deliver a user experience that sets the standard for accessing stuff from the Internet and from your home network on your TV,” the Boxee added.
