Wheego electric car to debut at Nov. auto show

Wheego will unveil its electric car at the International Auto Show in Los Angeles next month, the company announced today. The “highway-ready, full-speed electric” Wheego Life is in production now and will be delivered to dealers and drivers in a few weeks, says the company

Wheego CEO Mike McQuary and President Jeff Boyd will present the new Wheego Life at a Nov. 18 press conference. The new EV will be on display Nov. 19-28, in the Augo Show’s new EV exhibit area in Kentia Hall, according to the company.

“Visitors to the LA Auto Show will be among the first to see the LiFe in person, and we think they will be delighted and intrigued with the Life’s spacious interior, standard equipment, and overall design,” says Boyd. The company characterizes the Life as “a two-seat subcompact car with fit, finish, and features designed for today’s environmentally-conscious commuters.”

Wheego lists these features and specs for the Life:

  • Range: approximately 100 miles per charge
  • Retail price: $32,995
  • Qualifies for $7,500 Federal tax credit, as well as many state tax incentives, including up to $5,000 in California)
  • Safety features: driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, power windows and locks
  • Batteries: 115V lithium battery pack
  • Charging methods:
    • residential 120V outlet
    • 240V outlet
    • J1772 compliant charging stations
  • Colors: red, white, blue, black, silver, green

Wheego Electric Cars is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company says it assembles its EV in Ontario, Calif.
