Navi-X media streaming arrives on Android

Users of Navi-X on XBMC or Boxee will be pleased to learn that a Navi-X app is now available on Android. All Media Online (Amo) has just released the first app exclusively devoted to browsing, playing, and downloading multimedia content on Android smartphones and tablets via Navi-X, an extensive, open source, community supported, media indexing web-service.

Android smartwatch smackdown!

Two startups are about to go “chrono y chrono” with competing Android smartwatch gizmos. The “I’m Watch” exclusively targets smartwatch applications, whereas the “WIMM Platform” is meant to create “a new market of connected wearable devices that deliver timely, relevant information at a glance” — of which smartwatches are but one example.

Netflix now officially supports Android 3.x tablets

Netflix has released a new version of its video-streaming app for Android devices that officially adds support for Android 3.x (Honeycomb) tablets. The October 19 release of Netflix app v1.5.0 build 360 also extends Netflix’s Android support to Canada and Latin America for the first time.

Roku adds $50 streaming multimedia player

Roku has added a new, entry-level device to its popular line of streaming multimedia players. The $50 “Roku LT” is nearly identical to the recently introduced Roku 2 HD player, except it omits that model’s microSD slot.
