Intel CTO showcases futuristic research

Intel CTO Justin Rattner speculated on where technology might take us by the middle of the 21st century, in his keynote an Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco today. Rattner showcased several areas of Intel’s advanced research, including wireless power transfer, shape-shifting matter, and technologies to make robots more personal.

Intel offered a sneak peek of the next-generation of its Classmate PC design at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco today. The new design features a tablet, touchscreen, and motion-sensing user interface, and is powered by — you guessed it — an Atom processor.
Using its Deep Space Network, NASA will beam the Beatles song, “Across the Universe,” into deep space today at 7 p.m. EST. The transmission commemorates both the agency’s 50th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of the song’s first recording.
